MODELING

Sarcophagus v. 03

Mummy v. 04

Mummy v. 04

After gathering more references and looking at more real human skeletons, I was able to fix my mummy model based on class critique. The teeth are now larger and more pronounced, the nose area is deeper, and the jawline is more narrow. Also, I sculpted in head wraps on the top portion of the skull.

Sarcophagus v. 02

Sarcophagus v. 02

I began sculpting the head and laying out the contours of the fabric drapery. A lot of areas still need refinement, and some facial features need to be tweaked to achieve a more idealized Greek style.

Mummy v. 03

Mummy v. 03

I continued to refine the mummy, adding in details for the neck/spine and putting extra detail into the head. I also sculpted wraps on the arms.

Sarcophagus v. 01

Sarcophagus v. 01

I started by creating a simple model in Houdini and exporting the OBJ file to Mudbox for sculpting. Using the reference I put together, I began sculpting the relief of the sarcophagus.

Mummy v. 02

Mummy v. 02

The mummy begins to take shape, and I experimented quite a bit trying to get the chest wraps to look like I wanted them to. I also sculpted the head quickly to get the basic shapes in.

Mummy v. 01

Mummy v. 01

I've started off modeling the mummy by using references of skeletons and Egyptian mummies. My next steps are extruding some of the wrappings off the body and then subdividing so I can begin sculpting the face and other details.

Sword Model

Sword Model

Using a found image of an ancient Greek sword, I created the weapon that the sculpture of Nemesis will be holding on the front of the sarcophagus.

Lantern Model

Lantern Model

I've modeled a basic lantern, which will be broken, cracked, and dusty. This will be part of the background, in one of the wall cutouts.

Vase 1 Model

Vase 1 Model

Using a CV curve tool and extruding the handles, I created a Greek vase based off of a reference image. The vase will be part of the collection of objects in the tomb.

Vase 2 Model

Vase 2 Model

Using a CV curve and pulling points, I created a Greek vase from a reference picture as part of the clutter in the tomb chamber.

Coins Models

Coins Models

I modeled three coins, which will be texture mapped on both sides to create 6 different coin faces. They are made to look imperfect, since my references all consist of lopsided coins with offset designs stamped into the metal.

Torch and Sconce Model

Torch and Sconce Model

Using a medieval torch and sconce as references, I modeled the torches that will be lined along the hallway in Shot 1.
